Music for Peace, Tagawa, Kokichi and Toru

Kokichi Tagawa (1946-) is a composer and arranger, plays piano, pianica, vibraphone, drum and bass as a Jazz musician. He was born in Hiroshima, and grew up in Nagasaki. He worked as a software engineer with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) company. When he was 46 years old, he took early retirement from the company and moved to Boston, MA with his family (his wife and 4 children) to study at Berklee College of Music. He graduated from the college with Magna Cum Laude in Jazz composition. He studied Vibraphone with Gary Burton and Ed Saindon, and composition with Ted Pease. He lives in Tokyo.
