Mission: Our community orchestra creates musical opportunities for players often overlooked by traditional ensembles, especially those facing barriers to participation elsewhere. We provide a safe, supportive environment for players across generations, with special consideration for those with diverse needs.
“With an orchestra you are building citizens, better citizens for the community“
Gustavo Dudamel
Music Director of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Paris Opera

Welcome to the site of Tucson’s Foothills Philharmonic Orchestra. We are an inclusive community, prioritizing community service, kindness, and respect, to maintain an environment where all can relax and enjoy developing our musical talents with good company. We rehearse in central Tucson and perform twice a year, in May and December. Check out our upcoming concert dates on the Concerts page.
Commitment to Safety and Equity
- Vaccination records will no longer be verified.
- If a member has been exposed to any airborne pathogen, lives with anyone who is ill, or thinks they might be coming down with something, they are to skip rehearsals until they’ve verified they have not fallen ill, and/or are not asymptomatically ill.
- We hope everyone in the orchestra will continue supporting the health of our most vulnerable members and our community by receiving ongoing vaccinations (for those who can).
- As always, we provide masks and hand sanitizer so everyone can participate in illness prevention.
- Our attendance policy is relaxed to accommodate our demographic, allowing for absences due to illness and other health concerns which keep them from participating fully.
- We’ll keep both doors open for air flow.
- We support our members wearing masks during rehearsals and concerts.
