The majority of the current Foothills Philharmonic membership were part of an orchestra established in 1993 by Catalina Foothills Community Schools. The Maestro of the original orchestra, Mr. Laszlo Veres, is a much loved Tucsonan who’s musical career has impacted so many locally. He is a well-respected educator, conductor and performer. Laszlo led the orchestra until 2020.

The orchestra is run by volunteers and its members are of all ages and professions. We aim to be a diverse community, to mentor young musicians within a multigenerational orchestra, provide opportunities for community folk who are not highly advanced or professional musicians, and to enhance the community via exposure to orchestral performances.

Concerts are held twice a year, in May and December. We perform a wide variety of music including showtunes, marches, classical, patriotic classics, and more!
After a hiatus during the pandemic and a change in venue, the orchestra has re-launched as a 501(c)3 corporation and is delighted to welcome two candidate Musical Directors, Rafael Reyes-Worman and Toru Tagawa for the Fall/Winter season of 2022.
